Job summary
The Judge Group is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Maintenance Automation & Controls Technician in Elizabeth, NJ to support and maintain automated manufacturing and facility systems. This role requires strong PLC/SCADA skills and a focus on safety and reliability.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial automation, proficiency with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, and a solid background in electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with industrial automation, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks and overtime.
- Strong safety and problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, automation, and industrial equipment issues.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment testing.
- Support control system design, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and arc flash procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to maximize equipment reliability.
