Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist in Waunakee, WI to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for gearboxes and conveyors. You will read engineering prints, adjust tooling, and perform inspections to meet tight tolerances on plates and shafts.

Responsibilities include multiple daily setups, program edits at the machine, and collaboration with the CNC shop team. Experience with Okuma/Fanuc and DMG/Siemens controls is preferred. This is a full-time, onsite role with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Ability to read engineering prints and verify tolerances.
• Familiarity with G-code and Fanuc/Siemens controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes in a production environment.
• Perform multiple daily setups on vertical mills, including workholding and tooling.
• Edit CNC programs at the machine to optimize performance and accuracy.
• Run production parts on Okuma vertical mills with Fanuc controls.
• Set up and run shaft work on DMG lathes with Siemens controls.
• Work from blueprints to understand geometry, tolerances, and requirements.
• Perform first-piece and last-piece inspections to confirm specifications.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and precision instruments to document measurements.
• Adjust tooling, offsets, and programs based on inspection results.
• Collaborate with CNC shop team to coordinate usage and share best practices.
• Handle basic manual machining on hybrid lathes, mills, and drilling/broaching machines.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
