Job summary

TE-CO Manufacturing is looking for an entry-level CNC Lathe Machinist in Ohio to operate CNC lathe equipment and produce workpieces that meet blueprint specifications and quality standards. This role offers on-the-job training with growth opportunities under supervision.

Shift hours are 6:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday to Thursday. The position emphasizes setup and operation, quality monitoring, maintenance, safety, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Study blueprints and process documents to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Start and observe machine operation to ensure proper function and adjust offsets as needed.
  • Enter commands and load control media into machine controllers to retrieve programmed instructions.
  • Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
  • Measure finished pieces with precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Report machine issues to a supervisor or programmer and seek approval to continue production.
  • Maintain and clean machines and work areas; save programs with proper backups.

  • Listen to machines during operation to detect signs of dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, and report issues.
  • Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve malfunctions or production errors, or to obtain approval to continue production.
  • Maintain machines and remove and replace worn tools using hand tools.
  • Keep machines and work area clean and organized; remove chips daily or as required.
  • Safeguard existing programs and save new programs with proper backup.
  • Lift workpieces to machines and comply with safety standards.

JOB SUMMARY

1ST SHIFT CNC LATHE MACHINIST: The Entry Level CNC Lathe Machinist operates CNC lathe equipment to produce workpieces that meet blueprint specifications and quality standards. This role is ideal for someone building foundational machining skills under supervision, with growth opportunities as skill and experience develop.

ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED

SHIFT HOURS

6:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. MONDAY- THURSDAY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Setup and Operation
  • Study blueprints and process documents to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
  • Start and observe machine operation to ensure no malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions occur; adjust tool and/or work offsets as required
  • Enter commands and load control media into machine controllers to retrieve programmed instructions
  • Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation
Quality and Monitoring
  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces using precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Listen to machines during operation to detect signs of dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, and report issues to a supervisor or programmer
  • Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or production errors, or to obtain approval to continue production
Maintenance and Housekeeping
  • Maintain machines and remove and replace broken or worn tools using hand tools
  • Keep machines and work area clean and organized; remove chips daily or as required
  • Safeguard existing programs and save new programs with proper backup
Physical and Safety Requirements
  • Lift workpieces to machines manually or with a hoist or crane
  • Comply with all safety standards and company policies
