Job summary

Bridgeway Park Battle Creek Senior Living Facility is looking for a dedicated Caregiver to support residents with daily activities and medication documentation. You will work closely with the care team to monitor health, assist with mobility, and ensure a safe, clean environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliable shifts (including every other weekend), and orientation/training to help you excel in a compassionate setting for the elderly.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend shifts required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, walking).
• Keep environment clean; perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Follow safety and health standards including infection control.
• Monitor residents and report changes to supervisor promptly.
• Support repositioning according to schedule.
• Document medications accurately.
• Use good judgment to ensure resident safety and care.
• Assist teammates with duties as necessary.
• Respond to call lights and promptly assess resident needs.
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating.

Responsibilities:

• Providing assistance to residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the environment which may involve light housekeeping duties
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
• Monitoring for changes in residents’ conditions and promptly communicate any changes to the supervisor
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Adhering to procedures regarding documenting of medications accurately
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and ensuring their safety
• Assisting other team members with their duties as necessary
• Responding to call lights and assess residents’ needs promptly
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
