We're looking for MANUAL TUBE WELDERS who demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, and alignment with our company values. A typical day involves welding components onto tubes for various air filtration, exhaust, and other metal tubes used across industries. As a job shop, you'll work on a variety of parts each day.

Shift details:

• 1st shift - Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (OT on Fridays, expect to work Fridays)
• 2nd shift - Monday-Thursday 4:20pm-2:50am (OT on Fridays, expect to work Fridays)

Responsibilities:

MEC is the largest metal fabricator in the nation for 14 consecutive years. We are a growing manufacturing company with over 75 years of history, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery.

What You Will Be Doing as a MANUAL WELDER:

• Verify correct filler metal using setup sheets, change as needed
• Adjust weld gas flow per WPS instructions
• Set up manual weld machines or download programs as per setup sheets
• Ensure proper tooling is installed in robots or staged manually
• Review weld requirements from prints (size, spacing, location, ECT)
• Load and position parts into tooling according to work instructions
• Weld parts according to customer prints
• Remove weld spatter and scale from finished parts
• Perform metal finishing by grinding if required
• Conduct quality checks as per setup sheets
• Maintain welding equipment and keep work area clean
• Set up and operate robotic weld cells
• Rework parts to meet customer specifications if needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or one-year related experience/training preferred
• Ability to train, communicate, and work with others
• Basic math skills
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
• AWS certification or ability to obtain it
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret bar graphs
• Ethical behavior, integrity, and reliability
