Job summary

TUI Cruises GmbH is seeking an experienced maritime security professional to join our crew as a Watch Officer with Chief Officer Certification. The role involves ensuring compliance, supervising ISPS-related duties, and coordinating with port agents for waste management during voyages.

We value self-motivated, resilient candidates who can work under pressure, take ownership, and communicate effectively in German and English.

Qualifications

• Valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency and required STCW trainings.
• Previous experience as a Watch Officer on board a cruise ship.
• Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ISPS, SSP, SQM, flag state and national compliance under SSO supervision.
• Manage gangway operations, including access control, visitor documentation, and crew training.
• Operate and maintain security equipment, conduct safety drills, and report malfunctions to the Staff Captain.
• Coordinate with port agents for waste and water management.
• Maintain and train crew on Ballast Water and Garbage Management Plans; review voyage plans with environmental considerations.
• Train crew in shipboard safety procedures according to the muster list.
• Support risk assessments and manage work permit processes efficiently; oversee accident reporting and ensure documentation.
• Provide onboarding, continuous training, and targeted development for crew members.
