Job summary

Lincoln Charter School Denver Elementary School in Denver, North Carolina seeks a 1st Grade Teacher Assistant and Bus Driver for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the classroom teacher, assists with student instruction and behavior, and may serve as a substitute when needed.

Starting November 2, 2026, this full-time 10-month position includes duties such as communicating with families, tracking assignments, and supporting literacy and core content.

Qualifications

• Strong background in North Carolina Course of Study/Common Core.
• Strong background in literacy and reading foundations preferred.
• Preferred – Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college/university.
• CDL for Driving School Bus - must be willing to obtain CDL and training if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Supports in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate strategies.
• Assists in tracking communication related to Ed-line, interim reports, report cards and other documentation as required.
• Serves as a substitute teacher when necessary.
• Assists teacher in tracking, preparing and sending communication dealing with student needs.
• Tutsors? (corrected) Tutors and assists students individually or in small group to help them master skills.
• Participates in parent conferences regarding students’ academic performance and behavior concerns
