Job summary

Berkshire Waldorf School in the Berkshires seeks a full-time First Grade class teacher for the 2027-28 school year. Ideally Waldorf teaching experience; emphasis on effective classroom management, clear communication, and collaborative work. Classroom support and mentoring will be provided.

The curriculum blends academic rigor with artistic expression and hands-on work. It includes languages, handwork, music, eurythmy, and an educational support program; on-site work is 7:45 am–3:15 pm, Monday

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Waldorf Teacher Certificate and/or enrollment in a Waldorf accredited training program.
• Minimum of three years paid experience in an accredited primary school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class of 12-15 first grade students.
• Lead the first grade curriculum in accordance with Waldorf Standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, student work, assessments, and reports according to BWS standards.
• Cultivate joy, wonder, and curiosity in the classroom, fostering a positive relationship to learning.
• On campus by 7:45 am until 3:15pm Monday-Friday.

Opening Statement

Berkshire Waldorf School is seeking a full time First Grade class teacher for the 2027-28 school year. Ideally, candidates would have Waldorf teaching experience. Effective classroom management, communication, and the ability to collaborate are priorities. Classroom support and mentoring will be provided.
