Position Details:

• Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly
• Reports to: General Superintendent/Fabrication Manager
• Location: Jacksonville, FL

Summary Objective:

To have experienced working knowledge of industrial structural fitting, assembly, and welding, including reading blueprints, measurements, and job specifications to build complete erection systems.

Essential Functions:

• Understanding job specifications, blueprint reading, measurements, and torque requirements for large steel systems.
• Cutting, prepping, fitting, and tacking various materials to prepare for welding, adhering to fit tolerance requirements.
• Selecting, measuring, and preparing materials using appropriate tools.
• Installing structural system components such as hangers, supports, and braces.
• Operating overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
• Monitoring quality, safety, and health regulations, and documenting quality reports.
• Following company policies, safety standards, and being medically fit to wear PPE.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with threading, grinding, welding, brazing, rigging, plasma, and gas arc cutting
• 5+ years of related experience or training

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years in industrial structural fitting
• Tack welding ability
• Vocational or technical training is a plus

Additional Details:

• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Position involves working in fabrication facilities and construction sites, with exposure to noise and physical demands.
• Work hours are Monday-Friday, with potential weekend work and local travel.
