Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. in Lockport, LA is seeking a dedicated Short Arc (GMAW) Tacker with at least 3 months of tack welding experience. The candidate will provide necessary tools to ship fitter and assist as directed, including tacking, grinding, or other assigned duties.

Responsibilities include entering confined spaces, supporting the ship fitter, and performing fire watch duties as needed. We value safety, quality, and reliable team performance in a demanding marine environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of tack welding experience.
• Pass hands-on Short Arc (GMAW) Tacker test in vertical/overhead positions with downhill progression.
• Able to work in confined spaces and at elevations greater than 5 ft.

• Enters and moves through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Short Arc (GMAW) Tacker with at least 3 months of tack welding experience. The candidate will provide necessary tools to ship fitter and assists as directed to include tacking, grinding, or other assigned duties.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 months of tack welding experience
• Must pass hands-on Short Arc (GMAW) Tacker T-join test in the vertical and overhead positions with the vertical position tack welded with downhill progression
• Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces
• Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5′

SKILLS

• Ability to weld components using GMAW tack welding techniques
• Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be familiar with basic welding or fitting processes
