Grand River Navigation Company is seeking a highly capable 1st Assistant Engineer to join our US-flagged self-unloading vessels operating on the Great Lakes. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable engineering operations in a family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• US Coast Guard credentials and endorsements are required.
• TWIC Card and MMC endorsement are mandatory.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Stand and maintain a safe engineering watch per USCG regulations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance via PMS.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair propulsion and support systems.
• Maintain engine room and deck equipment and record maintenance logs.
• Assist regulatory inspections, audits, and environmental compliance.
