Job summary

Noble Aerospace in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Nital Etch Inspector for the 2nd shift to process parts through nital/temper etch and interpret test results per traveler requirements and quality standards.

You will read basic drawings, follow procedures, and ensure safe handling of chemicals in a noisy environment. The role requires lifting parts and adhering to safety laws; ITAR compliance is mandatory as a US person.

Qualifications

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand basic drawings and sketches.
  • Pass an annual vision test for Jaeger #1 at 12 inches.
  • Pass written and practical examinations annually with at least 80 percent.
  • Able to lift, carry, and suspend parts on hooks, racks, and baskets.
  • Work around hazardous chemicals and loud noises.
  • Knowledge of safety laws and issues.
  • US Person required due to ITAR regulations.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:

Process orders of parts through nital etch/temper etch/ammonium persulfate etching operations per shop traveler requirements and interpret results of testing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/KEY RESULTS REQUIRED:

  • Rack and prepare parts for processing through the nital etch line.
  • Interpret accurate results from the nital etch process.
  • Recognize real and false indications and be able to distinguish between.
  • Report results of testing on shop traveler.
  • Package and prepare parts for embrittlement relief following nital etching.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by foreman.

WILL ACT AS BACK UP FOR THE FOLLOWING:

MAG General Helper I, II, and III

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

Only as needed to prepare parts for processing and post-processing bake operation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand basic drawings and sketches.
  • Pass an annual vision test consisting of ability to read Jaeger #1 at a distance of at least 12 inches.
  • Pass written and practical examinations on an annual basis with a score of at least 80 percent.
  • Have no physical limitations that would interfere with ability to lift, carry, and suspend parts on hooks, racks, and baskets during the processing and examination of parts.
  • Ability to work around hazardous chemicals and loud noises.
  • Knowledge of safety laws and issues.
