Job summary

Schnucks Markets, Inc. in Indiana seeks a friendly customer service teammate responsible for greeting customers, bagging groceries, stocking bags at check stands, and assisting shoppers in getting carts and carrying purchases to their cars.

Regular attendance is essential, and you will read shelf tags, verify prices, and help keep the store tidy. Training occurs at store level; physical duties include bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on your feet 4–8 hours.

Qualifications

• Six months employment with Schnucks preferred for internal candidates.
• Must be in good standing (not on PIP or active discipline).
• Ability to read shelf tags and verify prices accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Bag groceries and place customers’ purchases into bags.
• Carry purchases to customers' cars and retrieve carts from parking lot.
• Stock bags at check stands and keep areas clean.
• Sweep and mop floors and return merchandise to shelves as needed.
• Read shelf tags and verify prices; follow store procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned by store management.

DUTIES:

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Place customers’ purchases into bags
• Place filled bags in cart
• Carry customers purchase to cars
• Retrieve carts from parking lot
• Pick up paper and debris in the store, from parking lot, and from carts
• Stock bags on check stands
• Empty trash from check stands and service center
• Sweep and mop floors
• Return merchandise left at check-out to shelves
• Read and understand shelf tags
• Verify prices of merchandise
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the store management

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Bending
• Stooping
• Must be able to push 3 to 5 carts at a time
• Able to work outside in seasonal weather
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Working on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
