A prominent educational institution is seeking a candidate to assist in transportation and office management within their organization. This role involves public engagement, adherence to regulations, and various administrative duties linked to the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational and interpersonal skills while upholding high standards of professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·Minimum high school diploma
·Experience with and knowledge of public agency operations
·Office management skills
·Word processing skills and basic understanding of computer use
·Able to multi-task and work with a variety of individuals
·Public relations and outreach skills
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Be familiar with the goals, objectives, and policies of Spencer-Owen Community Schools and adhere to them as they relate to the position.
2.Be familiar with and follow the chain of command.
3.Exhibit appropriate personal relations with subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
4. Exhibit appropriate relations with members of the public, vendors, the media, and other governmental agencies.
5. Exhibit proper dress and personal hygiene.
6.Observe working hours and do not abuse lunch and break periods.
7.Follow proper purchasing and procurement procedures.
8.Be aware of and follow requirements for confidentiality and record keeping.
Job Specific Responsibilities
1. Greet the public, fellow employees and vendors in a courteous, helpful manner in person, or
through other means of correspondence.
2. Be able to drive a school bus whenever needed.
3. Be available as needed for emergencies.
4. Prepare monthly claims in a timely manner.
5. Assign field trips in a fair & timely manner.
6. Schedule use of Corporation vans in a fair and timely manner.
7. Assist in budget preparation and budget implementation for Transportation.
8. Submit all reports in an accurate, timely manner.
9. Remain current on all federal, state and local regulations concerning Transportation.
10. Maintain current listing of all DOT schooling.
11. Assist in daily Transportation activities:
A.Radio communications
B.Road problems-turnarounds, bridge problems, etc.
C.Accident investigation
D.Daily route time logs
E.Communications with local agencies
12. Assist in relations with bus contractors and drivers:
F.Training
G.License requirements
H.Problem/conflict resolution
I.Seek to improve and maintain a high level of job knowledge and expertise as it relates to Transportation, office management methods and school corporation operations in general.
J.Attending in-service training, workshops, seminars as requested
K.Maintaining working knowledge of office equipment use
L.Reading available materials pertaining to my area of responsibility
13. Assist in the drug & alcohol-testing program for all bus drivers.
