Description for Candidates:
- Manage public services for the VDOT Research Library and provide a variety of library services to VCTIR Staff, VDOT Staff, University of Virginia faculty and students, and the public.
How you will contribute:
- Outreach: Develop and implement outreach program activities. Cultivate partnerships and establish networks with VDOT staff. Develop plans to expand services to VDOT user groups. Provide consultation on innovative library and information services.
- Program Management: Lead public services, develop policies, procedures, and plans. Establish metrics for services like reference and copyright. Manage the public services budget and maintain the web presence.
- Public and Technical Services: Manage bibliographic searches, oversee federated searches, provide consultations, support cataloging, interlibrary loan, and collection development. Maintain and document services and evaluate collection additions.

- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of web design, library science theory, and library operations.
- Familiarity with search tools and computer/web applications.
- Working knowledge of reference tools, including transportation databases.
Minimum Qualifications:
