Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, is offering an internship to excited students eager to explore heavy civil, waterworks, energy and infrastructure management projects. The 12-week program provides hands-on exposure across Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision and Field Engineering.

You'll gain practical experience on live sites, learn to interpret plans, perform basic surveying, and support field crews while developing professional skills in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering or related 4-year degree program.
  • Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Manual dexterity for handling items and field work.
  • Understanding of Construction Math concepts.
  • Ability to perform moderate to high physical activity in field-based construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
  • Know and apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment for jobsite activities.
  • Observe and prevent safety incidents.
  • Conduct jobsite audits.
  • Learn how to interpret plans and set layouts.
  • Understand how to survey for quantities.
  • Gain knowledge in conversions and accurate surveying practice.
  • Assess man-hours time and materials needed for production.
  • Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.
