Job summary

Brooksource is hiring an AI Engineer contract role in Indianapolis, IN to support an Integrated Risk Analytics team for a leading pharmaceutical company. The position focuses on building AI features using enterprise-hosted LLMs, including chat over program insights and an MCP server for data exposure.

You will work with a small team to deliver LLM-driven workflows, design RAG pipelines, and own prompt engineering and API development.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience building LLM applications in production.
• Experience building RAG systems with embeddings, retrieval and vector stores.
• Strong prompt engineering and LLM workflow design skills.

Responsibilities

• Build LLM-powered workflows embedded directly in the application.
• Design and build a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline over program insights.
• Build an MCP server that exposes data and insights to LLM clients.
• Deliver role-based chat so users see outputs scoped to their access.
• Build the APIs that support these AI features.
• Own prompt and workflow engineering, including evaluation and quality testing of outputs.
• Collaborate with a full-stack engineer, data engineers, and analytics architect.
