Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Production Operator for the Columbus, Ohio plant to safely run high‑speed packaging lines for nutrition products. You will start up and shut down equipment, clear jams, and report issues to supervision while maintaining accurate production records and a clean, compliant work area.

You will handle packaging materials, conduct quality checks, and adhere to FDA/GMP/OSHA policies. This 12‑hour night shift rotates on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to document Production Counts, Material Usage/Losses and Batch Work orders accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication on the line.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate high-speed production equipment for nutrition products.
• Start up/shut down equipment and clear jams per procedures.
• Report abnormal equipment function and product problems to the Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of packaging materials and complete work orders.
• Perform quality checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensure safe operations and report incidents or hazards promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S practices.
• Adhere to isolation procedures and proper product status labeling.
• Ensure correct identification, codes, and expiration dates on products/materials.
• Comply with FDA, GMP, OSHA and Abbott/Ross regulations.
