Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead plant floor activities during 12 hour night shifts. You will ensure safety, quality, and productivity while directing teams and coordinating with cross-functional partners.

You will apply continuous improvement methods in a Lean environment, manage schedules, and mentor hourly personnel to meet performance metrics. A 4-year degree or equivalent production leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in a related business or technical field such as food science, operations management, or engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in production management or supervision, preferably in the food processing industry.
• Strong leadership capabilities to help take the team to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Directs employees and plant floor activities to achieve a high-quality product.
• Enforces safety and sanitation rules to maintain a safe workplace.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and company regulatory requirements.
• Maintains positive employee relations, including evaluation and training of hourly personnel.
• Tracks performance and attendance to meet metrics and resolve issues promptly.
• Uses metrics to evaluate and improve work processes and maintain regulatory documentation.
• Collaborates with other supervisors and cross-functional teams to coordinate operations.
• Plans and establishes work schedules.
