Diversified Services Network, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior LAN Network Engineer to join our team in East Peoria, IL. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and support LAN infrastructure across Americas with a focus on Cisco switches and TCP/IP networks.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, hands-on LAN implementation, and collaboration with vendors. You will participate in on-call support and ITSM changes while helping design scalable network solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years of network engineering or 8+ years in lieu of degree.
• Hands-on LAN implementation and support: TCP/IP, Ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, VLANs, OSPF, cabling, switching.
• Functional experience with LAN operations using Cisco switches and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues; replace defective components.
• Respond to LAN development and support requests.
• Provide off-shift support for critical incidents with on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with business partners and vendors on infrastructure integration.
• Design and implement processes to aid development and support.

Senior LAN Network Engineer East Peoria, IL

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time LAN Network Engineer to join our team in East Peoria, IL. We offer full benefits, PTO, 401k, and more!

Position Overview

As a LAN Network Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network-related solutions, utilizing your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems. This role will collaborate with the LAN team and other technical teams to provide network support across all Americas locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues, and replace defective components as needed
• Respond as needed to support requests related to LAN development and support
• Provide off-shift support for critical incidents; team members rotate through an on-call schedule, requiring occasional off-shift and weekend support calls
• Work directly with business partners and vendors on infrastructure integration as needed
• Design and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and support
• Follow ITSM process and documentation for all changes
• Collaborate with other technical teams to plan and execute changes (e.g., firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC)
• Advise business partners on technical questions and issues in the LAN space

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer-related or engineering-related field with 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in Network Engineering OR 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Hands‑on experience with LAN implementation and support, including risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, Ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, copper and fiber cabling, OSPF, VLAN trunking, VLANs, and switching configuration
• Functional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches and familiarity with Cisco equipment
• Ability to work well in a team atmosphere and collaborate positively with others

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Experience with automation technologies and scripting
• Experience with DNA Center (Catalyst Center)
• Wireless networking knowledge and experience
• Relevant work experience with medium to large companies
