Position Summary
The PT Assistant Manager is responsible for executing operational, merchandising, and managerial functions during their assigned shift. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager serves as the manager-on-duty, overseeing daily operations and supervising Sales Associates.
Major Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions
- Driving Sales
- Achieve and exceed sales goals according to the financial plan.
- Support Store Manager in evaluating and improving business results.
- Assist in setting and monitoring store goals (daily, weekly, individual).
- Help manage store expenses and ensure funds and merchandise are handled per company policies.
- Maintain accountability for store operations, associate development, and financial contributions.
- Assist with scheduling at least 1 grassroots event per quarter.
- Manage merchandise effectively and market externally to grow the business.
Marketing Initiatives
- Utilize social media to drive traffic, recruit, and generate sales.
- Support scheduling grassroots events and driving PLCC and email capture efforts.
Customer Experience
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Properly zone the store for optimal selling and customer experience.
- Serve as a product knowledge expert for customers and associates.
- Model company values and hold associates accountable.
Operations
- Serve as manager on duty when needed.
- Communicate with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager on key issues.
- Conduct daily updates and ensure store cleanliness and maintenance.
- Execute visual merchandising and assist with inventory management.
- Manage time effectively for self and team.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to apply retail math and operate POS systems.
- High initiative, accountability, and ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
Work Requirements
- Ability to lift 30 lbs, push, pull, bend, and stretch frequently.
- Stand for 8-10 hours daily.
- Use ladders or equipment for store and merchandising maintenance.
- Work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- Minimal travel may be required.
