Job summary

Meriden Health and Rehab LLC in Meriden, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead nursing operations as Nurse Manager. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, coordinate resident care plans, and ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations.

The role requires at least 1 year of nursing experience with long-term care, CT RN license and CPR. You will drive quality of care, mentor staff, and maintain accurate documentation while maintaining resident rights and safety.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Connecticut (CT).
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in LTC or skilled nursing preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight

• Supervise and coordinate nursing care for residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies.
• Assess residents' conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in medical records.
• Administer medications and treatments as required.
• Participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Staff Supervision

• Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff during assigned shifts.
• Provide guidance, support, and clinical direction to staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and assignment coverage.
• Monitor staff performance and address performance issues in accordance with facility policy and collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.
• Report incidents, accidents, and concerns to the DON/ADON.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with CMS, state Department of Public Health, and facility regulations.
• Participate in survey preparedness and respond appropriately during inspections.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times.
• Maintain resident rights, dignity, and confidentiality.

Quality Assurance & Safety

• Identify and report quality of care issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Follow emergency procedures and respond to incidents as needed.

Communication

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Serve as the nursing leadership contact during assigned shifts.
• Escalate concerns appropriately to nursing leadership.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
• CPR certification required.

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards.
