What You'll Do

The Medication Technician/Medication Passer is a leader and a role model for the shift, responsible for maintaining the safe and secure delivery of medications. They develop, coordinate, and perform tasks on the Growth and Wellness plan according to residents' preferences and abilities. Leadership responsibilities include ensuring Care Partners complete their assignments and supporting and guiding them.

Responsibilities include:

  • Passing medication and assisting with self-administration as required by law.
  • Guiding and supporting Med Techs on their shift.
  • Leading Care Partners as a role model of kindness, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Participating in interviewing new Care Partners and Med Techs.
  • Providing orientation and training to new Care Partners and Med Techs.
  • Coaching team members to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborating with the RCC and Administrator for scheduling.
  • Supervising medication storage, distribution, and discontinuation.
  • Maintaining compliance with policies and procedures.
