The Legal Nurse Consultant is responsible for collaborating with the pre-settlement and claims administration team, performing clinical reviews of medical information based on case-specific review methodologies. Responsibilities include creating chronologies and timelines, summaries, mass tort matrix, and providing medical opinions on case validity and valuation. This role requires approximately 10 hours per week.

LOCATION: Remote

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and summarize medical records for pre- and post-settlement projects.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical, mass tort, and other product liability cases is a plus.
  • Assist in transcribing physician reviews by editing and formatting as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed within contractual deadlines and all review components are included.
  • Deliver final products to clients according to contractual guidelines.
  • Communicate with relevant parties regarding reviews.
  • Evaluate, identify, and report on care and other relevant issues.
  • Participate in data analysis, reporting, and feedback processes related to projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate medical information effectively.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare data analysis and clinical review.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking.
  • 1-3 years of medical review experience.
  • Strong computer skills.

Required Certification:

  • Current RN or Medical License.
  • Associate degree or diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
