Job summary

SMARTECH-CSI.com seeks experienced IT Break/Fix Hardware Technicians to perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of computers and IT equipment at customer locations in College Station and surrounding areas. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible, project-based schedules.

You will repair desktops, laptops, and workstations, swap components, and document work while delivering professional customer service.

Position: Independent Contractor (1099)
Type: Field Service / Onsite
Schedule: As Needed / Project-Based

We are seeking experienced IT Break/Fix Hardware Technicians to provide onsite troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of computers and IT equipment at customer locations in the College Station and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

• Repair desktop, laptop, and workstation hardware.
• Replace defective components and peripherals.
• Perform equipment swaps, upgrades, and installations.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware connectivity issues.
• Test equipment and confirm proper operation.
• Document work performed, parts used, and equipment information.
• Provide professional customer service at each site.
• Follow all company and customer policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Requirements:

• Experience with IT hardware repair or break/fix support.
• Strong PC and peripheral troubleshooting skills.

Contractor: This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Technicians provide their own transportation and standard IT tools and are responsible for their own taxes and applicable business requirements.
