Qualifications

  • Experience performing minor drywall repair and light maintenance tasks preferred.
  • Construction or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to assess job requirements and estimate materials and supplies needed.
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to painting, ladder use, and chemical handling.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple locations. Frequent travel is required.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior painting projects across facilities and administrative buildings.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, trim.
  • Conduct minor drywall repairs, patching holes and cracks.
  • Perform light carpentry or maintenance tasks related to painting.
  • Estimate materials and scope of work; coordinate paint purchases.
  • Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment safely.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and infection control expectations.
  • Coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption.
  • Identify and report facility conditions observed during painting.
  • Travel to multiple locations; transport arrangements per guidelines.

All materials are provided by the organization. This position requires travel to multiple RHA locations and includes a transportation allowance. This role does not include exterior work, sales, bidding, or customer collections.If you are a positive and personable individual looking for a satisfying and fun opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and people facing mental health, and substance use challenges, join our team at RHA Health Services!The Interior Residential Painter is an in-house position responsible for interior repainting and surface-finishing needs within occupied residential homes and facilities across RHA Health Services.Key advantages of this role include:Interior repainting of occupied residential homesBedrooms, common areas, kitchens, trimNo ladders over 8 feetNo exterior workNo sales/no bidding/no customer collectionMaterials providedTransportation allowanceKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform interior painting projects across RHA facilities, and administrative buildings.Perform interior repainting projects in occupied residential homes, including:BedroomsCommon areasKitchensTrim and interior finishesMaintain professional conduct and sensitivity when working in homes occupied by individuals supported.Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.Conduct minor drywall repairs, including patching holes, cracks, and surface imperfections prior to painting.Perform light carpentry or minor maintenance tasks directly related to painting projects, as appropriate.Assess job sites and develop material estimates and scope of work, including recommended paint types, quantities, supplies, and preparation needs for each project.Assist with assembling supply lists and coordinating paint and material purchases in alignment with departmental processes.Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including ladders, sprayers, rollers, and brushes.Adhere to safety guidelines, including:Use of ladders no higher than 8 feetCompliance with all fall-prevention and equipment safety standardsEnsure all work meets quality standards and infection control expectations appropriate for healthcare and residential environments.Maintain cleanliness and safety of workspaces in active living environments both during and after project completion.Project scope may vary from full facility paint refreshes to targeted patchwork and touch-up projects.Complete all assigned work using company-provided materials and supplies.Coordinate work schedules with Facilities leadership to minimize disruption to operations and individuals supported.Identify and report facility conditions or maintenance concerns observed during painting projects.Coordinate transportation and travel in accordance with departmental transportation allowance guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned in support of Facilities and operational needs.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 2-3 years of professional painting experience.Demonstrated knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and material selection.Experience performing minor drywall repair and light maintenance tasks preferred.Construction or facilities maintenance experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to assess job requirements and estimate materials and supplies needed.Knowledge of safety practices related to painting, ladder use, and chemical handling.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects.Strong time management and organizational skills.Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with staff and leadership.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple locations.
