Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC seeks an Independent Contractor to perform interior repainting and surface finishing across multiple sites, including occupied residential homes and facilities. Responsibilities

  • Perform interior painting tasks across RHA facilities and occupied homes.
  • Prepare surfaces, sand, patch, prime walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
  • Conduct minor drywall repairs prior to painting.
  • Assist with material estimates and coordinating paint purchases.
  • Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate work schedules with Facilities leadership to minimize disruption.

Job description

1099 Interior Residential Painter (Multi‑Site)

We are hiring an Independent Contractor to perform interior repainting and surface‐finishing work in occupied residential homes and facilities across RHA Health Services. The role supports the upkeep, safety, and appearance of bedrooms, common areas, kitchens, trim, and other interior spaces while minimizing disruption to residents and daily operations. All materials are provided by the organization and a transportation allowance is included for frequent travel to multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform interior painting projects across RHA facilities and administrative buildings.
  • Execute interior repainting in occupied residential homes, including bedrooms, common areas, kitchens, trim, and other interior finishes.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting: clean, sand, scrape, patch, prime walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
  • Conduct minor drywall repairs (patching holes, cracks, surface imperfections) before painting.
  • Perform light carpentry or minor maintenance tasks directly related to painting projects, as appropriate.
  • Assess job sites, develop material estimates, and determine scope of work, including recommended paint types, quantities, supplies, and preparation needs.
  • Assist with assembling supply lists and coordinating paint and material purchases in alignment with departmental processes.
  • Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including ladders, sprayers, rollers, and brushes, ensuring ladders never exceed 8 feet.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines: fall‑prevention and equipment safety standards, and infection‑control expectations appropriate for healthcare and residential environments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of workspaces during and after project completion in active living environments.
  • Coordinate work schedules with Facilities leadership to minimize disruption to operations and residents.
  • Identify and report facility conditions or maintenance concerns observed during painting projects.
  • Coordinate transportation and travel in accordance with departmental transportation allowance guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Facilities and operational needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional painting experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and material selection.
  • Experience performing minor drywall repair and light maintenance tasks preferred.
  • Construction or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to assess job requirements and estimate materials and supplies needed.
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to painting, ladder use, and chemical handling.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with staff and leadership.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple locations; frequent travel is required.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Perform tasks requiring sustained physical activity: sitting, standing, walking, repetitive hand movements.
  • Stand, climb ladders, lift materials, and work in occupied facilities.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers and phones.
  • Lift and carry items within a reasonable weight range when necessary.
  • Exposure to prolonged periods of screen time.
