Hyundai AutoEver America in Joliet, IL seeks an Engineering Systems Administrator II to maintain core infrastructure, spanning Windows/Linux, VMware, AD, and storage. You will support cloud initiatives across Azure, AWS, and GCP while ensuring security, patching, and system hardening.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and cybersecurity to manage Tier-2 issues, monitor via SolarWinds and Grafana, and contribute to modernization efforts in a fast‑paced IT environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of system administration experience in a medium-to-enterprise environment.
• Strong command of both Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware, Active Directory, enterprise storage, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with security frameworks, patch compliance, and system hardening best practices.

Role Overview

The selected System Administrator will support, maintain, and enhances Hyundai Autoever America’s core infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, identity services, cloud platforms, and endpoint systems. This role ensures the stability, availability, and security of enterprise systems through proactive administration, monitoring, documentation, and adherence to operational standards.

You will work closely with senior engineers and the cybersecurity team to support daily operations, resolve Tier‑2 issues, and assist with modernization and cloud‑driven initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Additional roles & responsibilities will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

• Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems; including strong command of Linux and Windows operating systems with deep troubleshooting capability such as perform patching, updates, and configuration.
• Support VMware ESXi, vCenter, and virtual server operations; provisioning, snapshots, and performance tuning.
• Maintain Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity‑related configurations.
• Perform hardware installation, racking, cabling, and lifecycle maintenance for servers and storage platforms.
• Ensure systems comply with security baselines and support patch management and vulnerability remediation.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
• 3–5 years of system administration experience in a medium‑to‑enterprise environment.
• Strong command of both Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware, Active Directory, enterprise storage, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with security frameworks, patch compliance, and system hardening best practices.
