Canvas in the United States is seeking an experienced engineer responsible for the design and integration of aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The role requires extensive knowledge and experience in leading engineering projects, ensuring airworthiness, and conducting stress analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s/Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in the DoD or ISR/SOF organizations. Physical demands include working in varied environments and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
This position frequently requires ascending/descending aircraft crew doors, aircraft stands - ascending/descending flight deck ladders, work stand ladders and common ladders, entering, exiting, working and crawling in confined spaces. Walking on wings, in cargo bays and in hangars where there are trip hazards, sharp edges and cords/hoses laying on floors, cargo decks, wing stands and flight decks and falling objects. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Combination of desk work (computer) and frequently working in an industrial work setting and as mentioned above accessing everywhere on an aircraft. Noise protection and goggles/safety glasses must be worn in designated work areas.
