Ensures IT operations align with regulatory and security compliance requirements. Establishes processes for business continuity, disaster recovery, and IT risk mitigation. Drives automation strategies to enhance IT efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve reliability. Works closely with infrastructure and application teams to streamline system performance and scalability. Leads efforts to improve cross‑platform integration and interoperability. Establishes enterprise‑wide metrics and KPIs to measure IT architecture effectiveness. Implements processes to continuously evaluate and optimize technology landscapes. Conducts architecture assessments and audits to identify performance gaps and opportunities. Improves IT service delivery through automation, efficiency strategies, and AI‑driven insights. Fosters a culture of continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies. Identifies opportunities to reduce IT costs while improving service quality. Fosters partnerships with state, regional, and federal agencies for technology collaboration. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study. Five (5) years of work‑related experience in IT, including two (2) years in an architecture or solution design role. Certifications (Preferred):



  • AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional

  • AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty or Generative AI Developer Professional

  • dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platform certifications


Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10‑year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. “Individuals holding or considered for a position which has, or may have, access to criminal justice databases including the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems, NCIC/TCIC and similar databases, must pass a national fingerprint‑based records check prior to placement in such position and may be denied placement in such positions and/or access to such systems. Incumbents must also maintain the ability to pass the records check while in the position or until such time that the Commissioners Court and the County Civil Service Commission deem this position no longer has this requirement.”
