Works closely with engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure technology solutions align with business needs, IT standards, and operational requirements.

Provides hands‑on technical leadership for solution implementation. Supports system optimization, automation, and process improvement initiatives. Ensures solutions align with business needs, industry standards, and county policies. Works with stakeholders to define functional and non‑functional requirements. Ensures seamless data exchange across departments and external agencies. Assists in cloud migration initiatives and hybrid system architectures. Ensures system availability and reliability by implementing disaster recovery strategies. Collaborates with database administrators to optimize data flows and storage solutions. Provides guidance on DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. Ensures compliance with enterprise architecture standards and IT security policies. Documents solution architectures, system designs, and integration patterns. Participates in system troubleshooting and performance tuning efforts. Works with IT teams to standardize system configurations and improve interoperability. Identifies and recommends improvements in system design and performance. Conducts post‑implementation reviews to refine best practices. Implements monitoring and logging best practices to enhance visibility into IT systems. Maintains architecture standards and ensures proper documentation. Optimizes cloud resource utilization and on‑premises infrastructure efficiency. Monitors application performance, databases, and network traffic. Implements automation tools to improve IT service delivery and reduce downtime. Works with DevOps teams to streamline IT operations and deployments. Develops performance dashboards and monitoring tools. Stays updated on emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends. Conducts proof‑of‑concept (PoC) evaluations for new technologies. Recommends innovative solutions to improve IT service delivery. Works with vendors and technology partners to explore new IT opportunities. Mentors junior engineers and developers on architecture principles and design patterns. Provides technical training sessions and knowledge‑sharing workshops. Collaborates with senior architects to define teamwide architecture frameworks. Promotes a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Works closely with IT teams, business leaders, and vendors to align solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert for technology strategy and system design. Supports IT project teams in defining architectural requirements. Guides teams on best practices for software development and infrastructure management. Participates in Agile and DevOps methodologies to streamline deployments. Provides technical mentorship to engineers and junior architects. Acts as a liaison between IT operations and business users for technical solutions. Ensures knowledge‑sharing and documentation for IT architecture decisions. Works with IT and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals. Participates in cross‑functional discussions to ensure seamless integration of IT systems. Acts as a liaison between technical teams and business leaders. Assists in presenting solution architectures and recommendations to IT leadership. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a job‑related field of study. Four (4) years of related experience in IT solution architecture, system integration, or enterprise application development. Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • TOGAF Certification (Enterprise Architecture).
  • ITIL Certification (IT Service Management).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent security certification. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. “Individuals holding or considered for a position which has, or may have, access to criminal justice databases including the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems, NCIC/TCIC and similar databases, must pass a national fingerprint-based records check prior to placement in such position and may be denied placement in such positions and/or access to such systems. Individuals must also maintain the ability to pass the records check while in the position or until such time that the Commissioners Court and the County Civil Service Commission deem this position no longer has this requirement.”
