Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily operations and quality assurance of tutoring support services and manages student staff and faculty communication.
  • Supports center staffing in tutor recruitment and onboarding; develops strategic tutoring schedules across modalities.
  • Develops and facilitates tutor training; conducts observations and evaluations with developmental feedback.
  • Promotes tutoring services to faculty and students and coordinates access to course materials for tutoring sessions.
  • Completes weekly and monthly tracking of tutoring utilization and satisfaction; assists with reporting and outcomes assessment.
  • Updates marketing materials and maintains social media platforms and website content.
  • Collaborates on initiatives to support student populations and retention across departments.

The 1000 HourAppointment will report to the Director of the Academic SuccessCenter (ASC) and provide operation and program support in order tomaintain quality learning support services, customer service,outreach and marketing, and student engagement for online andin-person peer-tutoring services.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Program Operations: Coordinates daily operations and qualityassurance of tutoring support services (internally and externally)and manages student staff and faculty communication in providingexcellent academic support in alignment with best practices.
  • Hiring & Scheduling: Supports Center Staff in semesterrecruitment of tutors; coordinates the application and interviewprocess; coordinates the onboarding of new hires. Develops astrategic tutoring schedule around high demand course times, usagetrends, multiple modalities (online vs. in-person), and identifiesrelevant group and tutoring lab/drop-in times; coordinates withfaculty on scheduling strategies and tutoring needs to informstrategic scheduling decisions.
  • Training & Development: Develops and facilitates tutortraining; participates in campus-wide peer support and centertrainings; conducts regular observations and semester evaluationsof tutors and provides developmental feedback to improve quality ofservices.
  • Faculty Outreach & Collaboration: Promotes tutoringservices to faculty and students; coordinates tutoring supportservices with academic faculty and other relevant offices based ontheir needs; coordinates access to course materials for tutoringsessions; sends outreach emails and assists with scheduling andholding faculty meetings.
  • Reporting/Assessment: Completes weekly and monthly tracking oftutoring services utilization and satisfaction; coordinates thedistribution, collection, and analysis of program surveys; assistsCenter Staff in compiling and organizing student success data forsemester/annual reports and outcomes assessment.
  • Marketing & Outreach: coordinates with staff and studentworkers to update and develop marketing materials, disbursementthroughout campus, and promotion of services via flyers, videos,tabling, Etc. Manages and maintains social media platforms andwebsite content.
  • Misc. Student Success Initiatives & Other ProjectsAssigned: Work with management to develop or support programming orinitiatives related to the center mission such as: developing andfacilitating effective study skills workshops for first yearcourses; supporting or tracking specific student populations orcohorts to provide retention or success interventions, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accreditedinstitution.
  • One (1) year of experience in higher education or a relatedprofessional role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional,first-generation student population.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a teamenvironment while effectively managing multiple priorities anddeadlines.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship(Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

This position will work 30-40 hours per week.
