Job summary

University Hospitals invites applications for its 2027 Summer Nursing Internship Program. This 10-week, paid internship provides hands-on patient care under RN supervision, helping students enhance clinical skills and professional confidence.

Participants work with an RN preceptor to gain experience in medication administration, IV therapy, pre/post-operative tasks, and patient-family communication, with priority job placement upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a qualifying nursing program.
• Graduation date December 2027 or May 2028.
• Up-to-date transcripts must be uploaded with application.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and blood products.
• Verification of blood products.
• Initiation, monitoring or discontinuation of IVs.
• IV pump adjustments and flow-rate management.
• Baseline and post-transfusion vital signs.
• Pre- and post-operative care tasks and documentation.
