Job summary

The aide will assist teachers with academic tasks, behavior support, and organization, providing 1:1 support to students with special needs and helping with supervision on bus loading and field trips as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ohio Department of Education certification/license required.
• Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of students and protect equipment and facilities.
• Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups.
• Teach social and self-care skills.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and on field trips.
• Provide extra assistance to students with special needs.
• Assist in bus loading and unloading.
• Coordinate with teachers to plan instruction.
• Assist with typing, filing and duplicating materials.
• Provide assistive devices and access to facilities as needed.
• Support behavior management plans and report progress.
