Job summary

Perry Township School District is hiring a Special Education Assistant 1:1 to support students with special needs within the classroom and school setting. You will assist with daily living activities, behavior support, and routine supervision under teacher guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, maintaining a calm, patient approach, and following district policies. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and prior SPED experience is preferred. 182-day schedule specified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with special needs children preferred.
• Ability to read and write; patient, calm disposition essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise halls, lunchroom, passing periods, loading/unloading buses and other duties as directed by staff.
• Assist students with activities of daily living (ADL) including personal care tasks as needed.
• Support teachers by implementing programming and managing behavior per instruction.
• Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.
