Job summary

Teays Valley Local Schools seeks a Special Education Aide (1:1 with student) for Scioto Elementary in Commercial Point, Ohio. This temporary, contract-based position starts immediately and reports to the Teacher Supervisor and/or Principal.

The role involves assisting teachers with lesson plans, supporting students with academic work, behavior, and organization, and supervising multiple areas on campus. Salary is paid hourly at $20.23.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification/licensure from Ohio Department of Education required.
• Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of students and protect facilities and equipment.
• Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Teach social and self-care skills to students.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, yards, gyms, or on field trips.
• Provide extra assistance to students with special needs.
• Assist in bus loading and unloading.
• Coordinate instructional efforts with classroom teachers.
