Job summary

Laraway CCSD 70C is seeking a 1:1 Teacher Assistant to support instructional efforts in the classroom, helping students access learning with individualized support.

You will work under the supervision of the Classroom Teacher, itinerant staff, building principal, and program administrator to implement plans and monitor progress.

Primary duties include assisting with materials, supervising activities, aiding mobility and health checks, and promoting inclusive, safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional educator endorsement required.
• State-approved TAS certification required.
• Endorsement in any teaching area preferred.
• Substitute teaching license acceptable for role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare instructional materials and activities as directed.
• Monitor and record student progress and health needs.
• Supervise students during arrival, transitions, meals, and activities.
• Support students with life-skills and self-management strategies.
• Assist with inclusive, learner-centered environments and classroom routines.
• Assist students with mobility devices and positioning as directed by staff.
• Promote pro-social behaviors and positive social interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate with staff as needed.

Education

Professional Educator License with Stipulation: Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement

State Approved Paraprofessional (TAS)

Professional Educator License: Endorsed in any area

Substitute Teaching License
