Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Personal Care Assistant to support a student throughout the school day in a Virginia school. The role focuses on safety, comfort, and meaningful participation in instruction, with emphasis on daily living assistance and consistent adherence to the student’s IEP.

Qualifications

• Experience in Special Education and/or Autistic Support.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a student during the school day.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teachers and therapists.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day.
• Assist with daily living tasks including mobility, toileting, feeding and hygiene as needed.
• Monitor health or behavioral needs and respond appropriately.
• Support transitions between classes and reinforce routines or accommodations in the IEP.
