Job summary

DeKalb County School District seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional for Kelley Lake ES to support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. You will implement lessons, assist with health-related tasks, and help maintain a safe learning environment under a certified teacher’s supervision.

Responsibilities include small group or 1:1 instruction, behavior support, and data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia-approved college or university.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ from a Georgia-approved college.
• Valid Paraprofessional Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with health-related and daily living needs as outlined in IEP and under supervision.
• Provide small group or one-on-one instruction per lesson plans.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and behavior support.
• Assist with assessment and data collection under teacher supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records under FERPA and district policies.
