Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience as a teacher aide or working with children
• Ability to follow lesson plans

• Good human relations and communications skills

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher by performing instructional duties and preparing classroom materials
• Supervise student behavior and apply behavior management techniques
• Provide 1:1 instructional support and present activities across developmental areas
• Collect and record student data (skill practice, seizures, toileting)
• Provide discipline in the absence of the teacher and follow established procedures
• Assist with personal hygiene and physical care as required
• Operate classroom technology (DVD, data projector, smartboards) and learning centers
