Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group in Belfast, ME is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 support to a K-12 student. The role is full-time during the school year, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, with a 32.5 hour workweek and pay ranging from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Education: 60+ credits (Ed Tech II) or 90+ credits (Ed Tech III).
• 60–89 credits: 2 years of school-based experience.
• 90+ credits: 1 year of school-based experience.
• Experience with behavioral needs is preferred.
• Experience with AAC devices and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time 1:1 support to a K-12 student.
• Implement behavior plans and collect data.
• Support academic work and social-emotional needs.
• Assist students using AAC devices with SLP coordination.
• Assist with daily care needs as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and clinical/therapy teams.
• Flexible with caseload changes and site assignments.
