Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional – Special Education (Level 2 1:1) to support students in a school-based setting at Falls Run Elementary in Fredericksburg, VA. This 10-month position offers non-exempt status and a starting pay grade IS3.

The role involves assisting with physical tasks, reinforcing instruction, small-group support, and collaboration with special education staff to promote student progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic curriculum expectations and IEP goals and objectives.
• Basic teaching strategies.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists student(s) in physical tasks and to reinforce instructional content.
• Assists with reinforcing material in small groups under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Establishes a supportive relationship with students while communicating with staff about progress.
• Operates and cares for equipment used in the instructional program.
• Maintains an appropriate classroom environment and supports implementation of instructional strategies.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, field trips, and other activities.
• Serves as information source for substitutes and assists with materials distribution and record keeping.
