Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a qualified 1:1 Maths & English tutor in Hampton to support a young person with complex SEN needs. The role focuses on re-engagement with learning, baselining current levels and creating tailored learning plans.

The tutor will deliver 1:1 Maths and English tuition, adapt teaching to communication needs, and maintain a patient, supportive approach while monitoring progress and engagement.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be qualified tutors with previous 1:1 tutoring experience and demonstrable SEN experience.
• Experience supporting young people with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging 1:1 Maths and English tuition
• Supporting the student to re-engage with education
• Completing a relaxed baseline/skills assessment to establish current working levels
• Identifying gaps in knowledge and creating an appropriate learning programme
• Adapting lessons around the student's communication, attention and learning needs
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student
• Using a calm, patient and encouraging approach
• Providing feedback on progress and engagement
