Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking a Medically Fragile One-on-One RN to support chronically ill and medically fragile students at Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC. The nurse works under the supervision of a school RN and provides specialized 1:1 health-related services in accordance with SC nursing laws and district policies.

The role requires a SC RN license, CPR certification, and 3+ years of nursing experience (preferably in school/public health/pediatrics).

Qualifications

Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
Current CPR certification.
Valid driver's license.
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience; preference for school/public health/pediatrics.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with at least two years' experience in a related setting.

Responsibilities

Reinforces health program protocols with students and staff.
Performs procedures with physician orders under RN supervision (catheterization, suctioning, tracheotomy care, tube feedings).
Provides nursing care per IHP or RN instruction.
Assists in maintaining medically fragile students in school.
Administers first aid, medications, treatments, and diets as prescribed.
Maintains accurate documentation and confidentiality per district standards.
Reports information and concerns to the registered nurse.
