Job summary

Retired Nurses is seeking a dedicated 1:1 school nurse to provide individualized care for a student during the school day. The role starts in October for 1–2 days per week, 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM, with a transition in January to a consistent weekday schedule at the same hours.

Ideal candidates hold an unrestricted RN license with school nursing or pediatrics experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and strong collaboration skills with teachers, aides, and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio
• Experience in school, pediatrics, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to assess, monitor, and document medical needs with compassion and discretion
• Comfortable collaborating with teachers, aides, and families for holistic student care
• CPR and First Aid certification required

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one nursing care to a student during school hours
• Monitor and respond to ongoing medical needs, administering interventions as necessary
• Gather relevant medical information and maintain thorough records in compliance with school protocols
• Communicate clearly with school staff and family regarding the student’s health and care plan
• Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions to support the student’s evolving needs and the possibility of expanding service hours
