Job summary

1:1 Licensed Vocational Nurse – Special Education is with Spring Independent School District in Houston, Texas. The LVN provides direct nursing care and health-related services to a student with specialized medical needs under the ARD process, under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include medication administration, implementing IHPs, and emergency care plans to promote student health and educational access.

Qualifications

Current Texas LVN license
Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Current CPR/AED Certification

Responsibilities

Provide individualized nursing care according to physician orders, the IHP, EAP, and ARD/IEP.
Monitor student health status throughout the instructional day.
Perform nursing procedures within the LVN scope of practice, including medication administration, tube feedings, catheterization, seizure monitoring, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration.
Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, toileting, feeding, and personal care as required.
Accompany the assigned student during transportation and school-sponsored activities when required.
Observe and report changes in student condition to the supervising RN and Director of Nursing & Health Services.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
