Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Fort Wayne, IN for the 26/27 school year. This full-time private duty/1:1 role supports a local K-12 district with nursing services.

You'll work with a team that provides clinical backing and school-specific nursing support, ensuring consistent pay and professional growth for clinicians in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Active LPN License in Indiana.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Demonstrated competency in pediatric nursing including trach/vent care, airway management, and medication administration.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to work independently.
• Ability to implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice.
• School-based nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student during the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with medical procedures per care plans.
• Provide first aid and medication administration as required.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Report significant status changes to supervising RN and family.
