Job summary

Bethel School District 403 is seeking a 1:1 Paraeducator for Preschool Special Education at BELC. You will support individual students ages 3 to 5, implement targeted activities, and work under supervision to promote learning in a partially self-contained program.

Responsibilities include small-group instruction, behavior management, and collaboration with certificated staff and families. Requires Right Response training and state paraeducator certification progress.

Qualifications

• Education, training, skills and experience necessary to carry out the assignment, with experience working with preschool students and special needs students preferred.
• Required knowledge, skills and abilities include reading/writing, communication, safety, behavior management and ability to follow instructions.
• Substitutions, if any, are not applicable per district guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction and assistance to preschool special needs students ages 3 to 5.
• Communicates with instructor and program specialists about student progress.
• Supervises students and maintains discipline in various settings.
• Assists with self-help skills and personal hygiene.
• Maintains safety and assists with meals and adaptive equipment.
• Monitors transportation and accompanies students to activities.
• Maintains classroom cleanliness and manages supplies.
