Job summary

Graham Elementary School in Springfield, IL is seeking two Paraprofessional 1:1 positions to support students in the classroom and during meals and transitions. Hours are 7 per day (includes 30 min unpaid lunch) across 191 days per year, with hourly pay ranging from $20.77 to $23.33.

Requirements include Educator Licensure with Stipulation or IL Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure, a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to follow directions, good communication with staff, CPI

Qualifications

• Must have Educator Licensure with Stipulation or valid Illinois Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform all job-related functions
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or written directions
• Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with staff
• Physical and TB test
• Must take CPI course and refresher courses

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with students in the classroom
• Supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and during bus transitions
• Use copying machine with teacher supervision to prepare classroom materials
• Assist with feeding/toileting of students requiring total care
• Assist with lifting and positioning of non-ambulatory students
• Assist students with self-help skills
• Perform other duties as assigned
