Job summary

Frank Wagner Elementary in Monroe, Washington is seeking a Paraeducator - Specialized Instructional - 1:1 Student Support to assist in targeted instruction for students with diverse needs. Under supervision of the building principal, you will work with a team to implement instructional plans and ensure student safety and progress.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher with additional training or coursework in child development, PBIS practices, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or higher, or 72 college credits, or apprenticeship completion or OSPI test.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification required.
• Background checks and clearances as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials.
• Tutor individual students and small groups.
• Monitor and assist students with drill, practice, and study activities.
• Manage student behavior using positive strategies and supports.
• Prepare instructional materials and adapt to student IEP goals.
• Attend to basic care of students as needed.
